As the only Frenchman representing the Paris Legion in the Call of Duty League, Paul "Breszy" Breszynski is set to fly the flag for France. Check out a full interview here!

Call of Duty League: Interview with Breszy, player for Paris Legion

Millenium: Let's start with the simplest question: Who is Breszy? How did he become a professional Call of Duty player for the Paris Legion franchise?

Breszy: My name is Paul Breszynski, A.K.A Breszy, and I am 19 years old. I became a professional player thinking there would be little success. At first, I was just playing for fun. Then I started playing in a team, competing in tournaments and now here I am... It's a long journey! (Laughs)

M: There as been no confirmation on a starting roster for the Paris Legion, will you be a member of the starting line-up or a substitute?

B: For the starting five, I don't know at this time but in a few days, we will decide which players will start for the opening weekend. We have a rough idea thanks to all the scrims we have been playing since the release of Modern Warfare.

M: What is your current role within a team?

B: In previous titles, I was purely a sub-machine gun (SMG) player but since Black Ops 4, I've been playing as a flex. For the time being I will continue to play this role as it offers a lot of diversity.

M: What do you think of the #EnGarde social media hashtag?

B: #EnGarde? I like it and I don't think there could've been anything better honestly.

M: You are the only French player in the CDL, does this reflect the lack of talent in the French scene?

B: No! Not at all. There are some very good players in France, They just haven't shown what they can really do yet.

M: What would you say to the people that don't want to support the Paris Legion due to the lack of French players?

B: I can understand that many people expected to see a team full of French players even if it is not the case this year. We are lucky to have a talented team that represents France and I think it is important to support your country.

M: Is there any pressure when it comes to being the sole representative of French Call of Duty on an international scale?

B: Honestly? No. I'm not under any pressure and I don't think about it. I'll just try to represent the French colours as best I can!

M: If you had to name a handful of French players that could join the CDL in the future, who could it be and why?

B: I would like to mention more but for me: Zeeked, RizK, Natshay, Wailers and Hydra have every chance to join a franchise in the future.

M: The CDL will start at the end of January. How do you mentally and physically prepare yourself for all these trips and intense games that are coming up?

B: At this point, we are with the team trying to learn about the game as quickly as possible. We watch a lot of our previous matches for example. We know that the level of competition will be high, that's why we're preparing as well as we can for the new season.

M: As a team, what does a working day look like?

B: We have to be there before noon. We'll eat, then around 1PM, we have our first scrim of the day. At the end of it, we debrief. We take a look at how we played and what we can improve on. Then we get into a second scrim and repeat the same analysis scheme to correct as many mistakes as possible.

M: Will you live in Paris throughout the season?

B: Right now, we're in Paris since we are waiting for out visas. Very soon we will leave for Los Angeles and stay there for the whole season. All the other franchises are based in the US.

M: Which franchises are the favourites to win the title at the end of the season? Why them?

B: I would say that the favourites to win the championship are the Dallas Empire and the Chicago Huntsmen. Those teams are full of exceptional players who have been at the top of the scene for years.

M: You are a young and promising talent along with many other players in the league. Which young stars do you think will be the ones to watch this season?

B: The next youngsters to watch out for? I would say Simp after his incredible rookie year on Black Ops 4. There are others like Celium, Skyz and Envoy... I certainly forget some but these have a good future ahead of them.

M: What do you think of Activision's decision to franchise Call of Duty esports? Do you think it was the right thing to do?

B: I think it brings some real positives. It makes the scene even more professional and it can help every aspect of the scene thanks to the big money involved.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

M: The community is very divided regarding Modern Warfare. Some say it's one of the best titles since CoD4, others say it is not good at all! What is your opinion?

B: At the moment, it is far from being a very good Call of Duty. There are many things to change such as spawns but the quicker these problems are fixed, the better the game will be.

M: If you had to recommend a class that would dominate, what would it look like?

B: I have two classes to recommend: The MP5 SMG with Compensator, FTAC Stock, Merc Foregrip, 30 round magazine and Stippled Grip Tape. Or an M4 Assault Rifle with the Corvus Custom Barrel, Forge TAC Stock, Commando Foregrip, Stippled Grip Tape and a scope of your choice.

But above all, two important parts: E.O D and Battle Hardened as perks one and three to increase resistance against explosives and flash grenades.

M: Where are you at with levelling up on Modern Warfare. Do you really have time for that when you're a pro?

B: Of course we have free time! You can play Multiplayer or whatever even if you are a pro. After that, some people prefer not to player because they don't like it. Everyone has their own opinion on this.....

M: The maps are a lot different in their designs from previous titles. Has this changed the ways you think about strategies?

B: It's not going to change much. We are used to seeing a new Call of Duty come out each year with different maps and new ways of playing. you just have to get used to the game as soon as possible. That's our job!

M: What do you think differentiates a normal player from an excellent Call of Duty player?

B: There are a lot of points to note compared to a normal player and a pro. I would say knowledge of the game, teamwork, communication, making as few mistakes as possible on the game, how you take gunfights and many other points!

M: Thanks to cross-platform play, you can now play against PC players who are using a keyboard and mouse. DO you measure yourself against them? If so, do you feel some kind of unfairness in the game mechanics or not at all?

B: I've already had the opportunity to play against PC players. I think it's exactly the same thing at the amateur level. Then if you put a pro PC player against a pro with a controller, it could be interesting, knowing that for me a mouse is more precise than a controller.

M: We will leave you with the last word. Have you anything to say to end?

B: This is the first year of franchising. We are lucky to have a team in France and even if it's not a team full of French players, you still have to support us. Because who knows? Perhaps other French players will join us in the coming months or years.....
