At the same time as the announcement of the new Descent of Dragons expansion, a new game mode was unveiled by Blizzard. This is the Battlegrounds game mode that will be available on Hearthstone very soon (in beta on November 5th).
General information
This new chaotic game mode allows eight players to compete in automatic fights. Each player will be able to play as one of 24 unique heroes and recruit servants who will have to be strategically placed before observing the battle.
This free game mode is designed as a full-fledged experience in the game. It incorporates the basics of Hearthstone card game, but does not require any card collection to play. However, having some boosters of the new expansion will improve your experience. Find out how in this article!
At BlizzCon 2019, a new game mode was announced for Hearthstone. It's Hearthstone Battlegrounds, the Auto chess with Hearthstone cards! Find out how to get there as soon as possible starting with the closed Beta!
The game mode is completely free of charge, but optional features will be unlockable by obtaining card packages of the most recent extension (from Descent of Dragons). All packages obtained will count, whether they were recovered free of charge, purchased with gold in play or acquired with real money.
- For every 10 boosters, players will unlock comprehensive statistics tracking in the Battlegrounds mode. (available after the public beta)
- For 20 boosters, players will unlock a third boss that they can choose in addition to the two bosses initially available.
- For 30 boosters, players will unlock the ability to provoke or communicate with their opponents through a system of emoticons.
