Faker, the Unkillable Demon King

League of Legends

Do we really need to introduce him?

Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok joined the SK Telecom organization in 2013 as a midlaner. The same year, exceeding all expectations, his team manage to qualify for Worlds, establishing an impressive 15-3 record across the tournament. Facing Royal Club in Finals, they prevailed 3-0 and Faker became a World Champion the same year he started to play competitively. Along with bengi, they are the only two players to have won World Championship three times.

Faker is a god — for long he was considered to be the best player in the world. Players such as Thorin, Alex Ich, and Maknoon used to call him the "Lionel Messi of League of Legends." Last year was nevertheless difficult for him, to such a point that his organization completely restructured the team around him in order to regain their former glory. Today Faker returns to prove that he and his team are still the bests.

We would be almost tempted to say that Faker is the perfect player. Since he can basically play everything, his pool of champions seems endless. Mid supports, assassins, AP carries, Faker's ability to adapt to both his mirror and the strategy of his team is absolutely incredible. Faker is one of these players who quickly rose to the top, becoming idols and stars all over the world. His popularity thus suffered from the arrival of LCK rookies, with people saying that he was less performing than he previously was.

The 2018 Season was indeed a struggle for SKT 1 and Faker, but they eventually managed to qualify for Worlds. Last year, China brought all trophies home but this year Faker and his boys are ready to snatch the Summoner's Cup out of Invictus Gaming's hands!
