Following the patch note 0.3 of the Hyper Scape open beta, a new extension for the Combat Pass progression is now available: Twitch Crowncast.
Viewers on Twitch will now be able to gain combat pass experience by simply watching their favorite streamers play Hyper Scape. If you are watching game streams where the Crowncast extension has been activated and you have linked your Uplay account to your Twitch account, you can claim points at the end of the match. The longer you watch and interact with the game, the more points you earn, which will allow you to unlock new items when you return to the game.
A cap on the maximum number of points you can earn for the combat pass by watching Twitch has been put in place to prevent players from overusing this expansion. This ceiling is liable to change if concerns arise.
Important note to players on consoles : The Open Beta is only available on PC, but you can also take advantage of this feature to unlock items from the Open Beta combat pass. They will be available on your account when you launch the console game when it comes out, thanks to the cross-progression system.
As a streamer, to get started you need to:
- Go to Twitch
- Open the Hyper Scape Crowncast description page
- Click ‘Install’
- After installing, click the ‘Configure’ button
- Connect your Twitch and Ubisoft accounts
- Go to ‘My Extensions’, and select Crowncast and click on Activate
- Set Crowncast to Overlay 1
- Click on Done
As a viewer, to get voting you need to:
- Open a streamer playing Hyper Scape
- If Crowncast is activated, simply wait for an event to start
- Once it starts, click on your favorite effect
