The Device event is today and it's live in Fortnite. Players will be immersed directly into a live scene that will truly transform Apollo Island. Perceived as seasonal rituals by veterans, these events are often amazing and spectacular one-shot shows.
Be on time !
Unlike Travis Scott's concerts, this event will only take place once. The show will start at 11 am PT, but Epic Games is calling on players to be ready at 10:30 to avoid being left at the door in case of server overload.
A game mode very similar to the Team Rumble should appear. In this one, you'll be able to reappear ad infinitum and players won't be able to hurt you during the show. The safest thing to do is to enter a game in this mode at least 10/15 minutes before the event kicks off.
Style is important
In the data files, it appears that the Device event will be one of the heaviest events ever created by Epic Games. It should be larger than Travis Scott's Astroworld. In other words, you won't want to lose a crumb, and every pixel of the show will be a feast for the eyes.
Don't bother with cosmetics that take up too much space on the screen. This is especially true for the glider: we risk being lifted into the air during this Storm event! Avoid using a massive glider that will hide the show from you: prefer a discreet umbrella, more ergonomic!
Clear the way!
For PC players, you should clean your machine before the event. Believe us, you really don't want to have an unfortunate freeze, or worse, a crash, in the middle of the show. Close unused windows and overly greedy applications in your Task Manager.
Also make sure you have the latest version of Fortnite up to date on your support, a few hours before the start of the live show. Fortnite patches are quite large and may take a while to install.
What if I don't have the game on hand?
You didn't have time to install the game entirely or you don't have access to your PC/console tonight? Don't panic: the last resort solution may be to follow the YouTube or Twitch live of your favorite streamer, to discover the event at the same time as everyone else.
With a decent connection, you'll be able to do this from your phone if you need to.
