LoL: LCS and LEC set to return on Friday

In this time of crisis, these are the two pieces of news we were expecting the most: the League of Legends Championship Series, as well as the League of Legends European Championship, will return after a week of interruption.

Both leagues decided to play the remainder of the Spring Split 2020 remotely online, which means that the broadcast will resume while being obviously less polish than it used to.

"This means that each team will be asked to play from their respective training centres and the show will be produced remotely from homes of LEC production and broadcast staff," said Head of Esports EU Alberto "Tiroless" Guerrero

"One of the main challenges of online play is how to preserve competitive integrity. To help with this, all teams will be competing from their facilities in Berlin, with the exception of Origen who will play from their training center in Copenhagen. Latency to our LEC tournament servers will be reasonably low and roughly equal between teams, offering a level playing field for the League."

In accordance with governments measures, Riot Games decided not to send referees to each team facility but to implement other measures to guarantee the integrity of the competition.

It's a big challenge for Riot, but we can't express how happy we are to see both the LEC and the LCS return.

IT'S HYPE-O-CLOCK!

See you on Friday!
