Patch 9.22

These statistics were updated as a result of the Patch 9.22.

Teamfight Tactics is a very different game mode from League of Legends. Probabilities and randomness are without a doubt the core gameplay mechanic. Here are some useful statistics to know for the smooth running of your games in "Advanced" mode. More than just discovering the game, these tables will make you see the game differently.

Damage inflicted on opposing heroes

Only the champions that remain on the battlefield will inflict damage to your opponent. The amount of damage that each champion inflict will depend on its rarity and its tier level.

Teamfight Tactics

The probabilities of champions appearing according to your level

We will first explain the table and data, then explain them below because they can be complicated to understand at first glance.

Teamfight Tactics

This table deserves some explanation and several things result from it. First of all, it is necessary to understand how it exactly works.

In order to do that, we highlighted a particular box in the table above (the red one). What this percentage means is:

"My Little Legend – meaning my hero – is level 6. It means that EVERY slot in the shop has a 30% chance of being a Rare champion (such as Ashe, Volibear, Shyvana, etc...)".

If you love maths, then you are served. You can calculate probabilities to have a specific rarity of champions within the Shop. For instance, there is a 0.0028629151% chance that you would get 5 Rare champions in one Shop. You will more likely find a melting pot of champions of several rarities, but yeah. Probabilities are fun.

What does this mean?

Several things flow from this table and must be taken into account in your strategies.

  • If you want to end up with a 3-star Ivern, or a 3-star Diana, or any other Tier 1 champion in a 3-star version, remember that your chance to get Uncommon (T1) pieces drops just after level 5. From level 8, you will have a 20% chance (or less for level 9) of having a Tier 1 champion proposal in the shop, and absolutely no certainty that it is the right one. This may cost you a lot of money in gold.
  • In the same way, it seems appropriate to want to finish a Tier 1 3-star champion at level 5-6, where the chances are still good to see some appear. These levels will be rather pivotal and you may want to use your golds to refresh the shop rather than to move on to the next level if you have not yet finalized your evolutions.
  • Forcing a specific lineup might end up very badly. Do not expect to have such and such a hero (according to his rarity) before a very precise level. If you are aiming for a full Summoner composition, you need to know that it's very unlikely to get Annie or Yorick before you reach level 6 or 7. Adapt your earlygame compo accordingly.
  • Last point for an even more advanced strategy: it should be known that the pool of champions is "limited" and common to all players in TFT just as it is in Dota Underlords for example. In concrete terms, if you see that your opponent is one Master Yi away from creating his two-stars MAster Yi, don't hesitate to pick it up in the store even if you won't do anything about it. Not all players can have a 3-star Vayne either because there are simply not enough in the pool (or so, but they will be regenerated too late in the game and the level of the players will make it almost never seen again).
