While the Mongolian hordes ravage the island and kill the inhabitants, Jin Sakai can collect flowers to unlock new items and skins for his weapons and armor. Here's a guide on where to find flowers and special black and white dyes.

Ghost of Tsushima: Dye Flowers Guide and How to Change the Color of your Armor Pieces

In Ghost of Tsushima many collectibles will allow you to customize the appearance of your armor and weapon. For that, you'll need a specific resource: the Dye Flowers. As with supplies, silk, iron and steel, don't hesitate to take small detours to collect them. Note that flowers are available in very limited quantities and don't grow back.

Ghost of Tsushima: Where to find flowers

One advantage of flowers is that they are highly visible. You can find them everywhere in the game, but here are a few particularly worthy locations:

  • Shinto Shrines are by far the best places for harvesting, but it will often require you to take detours and have to climb extra obstacles. But since they are unique, it's best to pick them up directly.
  • The large flowered plains and fields often have flowers to pick. It is easy to differentiate them from the "decorative", since they are taller and wider. However, they tend to be the same colour.
  • Flower pots may occasionally be seen outside of houses.
  • The huge rice fields and marshes in Act 2 are perfect for harvesting many flowers. The area is flat and empty, so it's very easy to spot lotuses growing on the surface of the water.
  • There is almost only one type of flower in act 3, orange buds. Their small size is compensated by their vibrant color thath makes them relatively easy to spot in the snow, and by the fact that the vegetation is much less dense.
  • Unfortunately, the Charm of Inari doesn't work on flowers.

Ghost of Tsushima: Where to use the flowers

Unsurprisingly, spending is easier than harvesting. All the basic merchants in the game allow you to buy cosmetic items in exchange for flowers. Note that they have a common inventory, but that their stock expands at the end of each act, so remember to go back and see them from time to time.

Merchants can be found in refugee camps, as well as in many towns and villages.

There are also two special merchants for monochrome dyes. The white dyes merchant can be found in Act 1, at the foot of a watchtower in the mountains, near a training bamboo. The The black dyes merchant is in Act 2, in a cave. Here are maps with their exact location.

Flowers are the only resources you will still lack after completing the story and finishing all quests. We can't stress that enough: you should conscientiously collect all the flowers you see.
