Legends of Runeterra

This deck is currently one of the most powerful (and therefore most played) of the current meta, so you should expect to play quite a few mirror matches.

During these, be sure to try to prevent your opponent from generating as many resources as you do. For example, don't hesitate to use a removal (Vile Feast or Black Spear for instance) on your opponent's creatures when he intends to sacrifice them with Glimpse Beyond. Preventing your opponent from drawing two cards can be a decisive advantage for the rest of the game.

As far as the game plans are concerned, this deck has the big advantage of being able to adapt to the course of the game.

Elise and her Spiders (Arachnoid Horror, Frenzied Skitterer, and the generated tokens) are of course assets to "win" the early game, or at least to put pressure on the opponent Nexus life points.

You'll also have the support of Fearsome creatures that will force the opponent to block them with big followers.

  • Note that crushing one of your followers on one of your opponent's big threats will help fulfill the condition of many of your cards, namely "If an ally has died in this round" (Rhasa the Sunderer, Black Spear).

To continue to harass the opponent, your Mistwraith will become more and more powerful as the game progresses, and Wraithcaller will reinforce this initial strength since her Allegiance condition is very likely to be fulfilled — given the proportions of cards in the deck. During this aggression phase, you will be able to prevent possible board wipes with Deny, and you will know how to handle possible aggressive opponent decks with Withering Wail.

If the game tends to be longer, Commander Ledros comes to reduce your opponent's hopes to nothing, whether by its effect or simply by its rather high stats.

The whole point of your endgame strategy is to re-summon him as soon as he's dead in order to reduce little by little the HP of your opponent's Nexus. To apply heavy pressure on the board, Hecarim and his Spectral Knights will be pretty useful, especially when he has evolved to level 2. If you need an ultimate burst, don't hesitate to play Mark of the Isles on your allies. Their sacrifice at the end of the turn won't be in vain...
